Metz Design Group is a Toronto-based interior design studio creating refined, modern spaces for commercial and residential clients across the GTA and beyond. We bring together technical rigor and creative intelligence to design environments that feel calm, intentional, and built to last.
Metz Design Group was founded in 2013 by Ioanna Metz Ionescu, who brought together a strong technical foundation with a considered approach to interior design. Since then, the studio has built its practice around creating thoughtful, sophisticated environments shaped by the requirements, character, and context of each project.
Ioanna is a Registered Interior Designer with the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) and an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer since 2016. Her background in both engineering and interior design informs a practical, analytical approach to space planning and construction, balanced by a strong sensitivity to proportion, material, detail, and atmosphere.
She leads the studio with the belief that successful interiors require both clarity of process and confidence in design judgment, resulting in spaces that are thoughtfully conceived, technically resolved, and distinctly unique.

Our work is rooted in clarity and elevated through refined materiality, warm tones, thoughtful lighting, and complex detailing.
